About the Event

Color My Outdoors is aligning with Outdoor Afro this Juneteenth.

Juneteenth is an annual recognition of the moment when 250,000 enslaved Black Americans in Texas were finally told they were free in the year 1865 – two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation had already freed them (onJanuary 1, 1863). To recognize that injustice, and celebrate our own ability to freely roam the nation, Outdoor Afro has set a goal to encourage 50,000 people to get outdoors this Saturday June 19th. We support this effort. Pledge your support by registering here as one of the many who get outdoors this Juneteenth!
